We know a lot of existing SOHODOX users are anxiously waiting for the upgrade to version 9. Normally we are able to release the Update Setup within a few days of the release of a new version.
However version 9 is a huge change. The setup file itself is much larger than before and the underlying database has changed from MS Access to MS SQL Server Express. Due to the number of changes in V9 we had to wait some time to ensure we were not hitting any unexpected problems with the new release.
SOHODOX has always been about simplicity and we want to ensure that the upgrade from older versions of SOHODOX to V9 is simple and trouble free for our existing customers. We have put in a lot of work to shield existing customers from the complexity of the upgrade (no other version upgrade has needed this much work). This means a lot of testing before we consider the upgrade ready for release.
We sincerely apologize for this unavoidable delay in releasing the upgrade setup. The entire SOHODOX team wants nothing more than the result of our months of hard work to be in the hands of our existing customers.
We hope to release the upgrade setup within the next 3-4 weeks.
Note: If your free maintenance period is about to expire please do not worry. We will not let this delay affect you. We released SOHODOX version on March 13 2014. So if you purchased SOHODOX any time between March 13, 2013 and March 12 2014, you will be able to upgrade to SOHODOX version 9 free of cost. The same holds true if your maintenance period expired any time between March 13 2014 and the date the SOHODOX Update Setup is made available.
