As per our upgrade policy, if you have purchased Sohodox within the last 1 year of the Version 7 release date – or have an active upgrade and support license at the time of the Version 7 release – you will be able to upgrade to Version 7 for free!
The upgrade process
We would highly recommend that you backup your existing database and documents before proceeding with the upgrade. The upgrade process is very safe but it always a good practice to backup your databases before an upgrade.
When you decide to upgrade to Sohodox 7, you must download and run the Version 7 upgrade setup (keep checking this blog to know when it is available). This will upgrade your existing installation of Sohodox to Version 7 (you should not uninstall your existing version before installing this new version). After upgrade, when you run Sohodox for the first time, you must login as superadmin. After this, you can run the Sohodox upgrade setup on other machines (in case you have a multi-machine setup).
Note: Please do not use the full setup to update an existing installation of Sohodox. Also, you must not uninstall an existing version and attempt to install the latest version of Sohodox using the Full Setup. This will not work. You will need to wait for the update setup in order to upgrade your existing installation.
Also, there is no need to get a new registration key or to re-register. Just start Sohodox as usual and continue using it!
